Responsive Web Design

  • Back

With the proliferation of different desktops, laptops, mobiles, tablets and browers it is essential that your website looks good on all screen sizes and software, this is the basis of responsive web design. There is nothing more frustrating than trying to use a website on a tablet or mobile where the menus keep disappearing or the buttons are too small to click on.

With the majority of internet usage now being carried out on mobile devices it is essential your site renders perfectly on all device types. Mobile devices are more limited than desktop PCs and require a different approach to the structure of the site and the layout of content, it is no longer good enough to just design the site on a desktop PC and hope that it looks OK on mobile devices. All of our websites are designed from the outset to be responsive which means that they use the best features of each individual device to create the best user experience.

Responsive Web Design is not an afterthought for us, we don’t just make our standard desktop designs fit the screens of smaller devices. All of our websites are designed, from the ground up, to make the best use of the individual features of each device to make navigation easier and enhance the user experience. We use a combination of HTML, CSS and Javascript as appropriate to automatically detect which device and browser a site is being viewed on and then to adjust the size and layout accordingly. Because of our experience in this area, we create these responsive designs instinctively but we still test them on a multitude of browsers, devices and screen sizes to make sure that they are always displayed at their best.

In today’s internet it is essential that you give yourself a competitive advantage by utilising responsive web design.
